2024 WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
Yoga or Somatics workshops are a fantastic way to take time to focus on more specific aspects to refine our practice. It is also a work of exploration enabling us to appreciate how our breath, body and mind come together to bring us harmony.
SOOTHING SOMATICS, CHANTING & RESTORATIVE YOGA
Time to slip something cosy on and curl up... Give yourself the luxury of some "Me" time and tender loving care.
Join us in this beautiful relaxing and rejuvenating flow to mobilise and rest your body and mind. The focus is on melting tension away and destressing your whole nervous system giving yourselves time and space to heal, reset and restore your beautiful self.
Switch to a “non-doing” mode, a state of simply "being" and rediscover a blissful sense of stillness and peace. Come out feeling refreshed, nurtured and rejuvenated. This workshop offers breathwork, mantra chanting, a Somatics and restorative yoga. practice.

SOMATICS: FREEING THE FRONT BODY & YOGA FLOW
Part 1 Somatics: Release, lengthen, realign and balance the muscles of your front body. Heaven for tight, rounded shoulders, hyperkyphosis (over rounding of the upper back), shortened hip flexors (from too much sitting), restricted breathing, stress and anxiety. Also addresses glute and hamstring imbalances. Use as a prep for back-bends.
Part 2 will be a slow yoga practice, with breathwork and a long restorative savasana

SOMATICS: FREEING THE BACK BODY & RELAXATION
Part 1 Somatics: Release muscles of your back body. Heaven for upper and lower back pain, tightness between the shoulder blades, hyperlordosis (over arching of the lower back), hyperkyphosis (over arching of the upper back), sciatica and slipped disc.
Part 2: An Ayurvedic Vata balancing yoga practice where we will explore how to balance Vata, the Air and Ether elements in our body. This practice is suitable to do in the Autumn/Winter when Vata is naturally higher in nature and in our bodies. It also naturally increases as we get older and during times of change or stress. Props: blanket, 2 blocks.
Part 3: We will end with breathwork, chanting and yoga nidra, a guided meditation. Yoga nidra, also called yogic sleep, is deeply relaxing. It takes you to a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, It induces deep relaxation. Research shows that one hour of Yoga Nidra can be equivalent to a few hours of sleep.

AWAKENING & OPENING OUR HEART TO SPRING
Time to re-emerge and reconnect. Join us in this beautiful awakening flow to mobilise and open our body. The focus is on opening our heart, back, chest, shoulders. A blend of yoga and Somatics to open our heart chakra.
This practice includes a breath practice, mantra, positive affirmations, Somatics and yoga movements to lengthen and open our bodies and heart. The heart chakra is the bridge between body and spirit, a symbol of love, joy and serenity. Expect twists and backbends to open, detox and revitalise ourselves. We end with a short heart chakra meditation.

STRENGTH PRACTICE: SOMATICS, PILATES & YOGA FUSION
A fusion of Somatics, Pilates and Yoga. A more dynamic yang approach to include breath work, an introduction to Pilates and yoga. We will look at how to incorporate and amalgamate all three together. Our focus is on core, shoulders and back strength. The practice ends with stretching and relaxation. You will leave feeling refreshed, strong and ready for the day !
