Iyengar Yoga 🧘‍♀️!! Back On the mat 

 

Last weekend, I attended an Iyengar workshop on Saturday & Sunday. It had been a while since I immersed myself over 2 full days of yoga. A Weekend of being fully present on my mat in class.

 

An exciting challenging yet transformative weekend  The practice involved 5 hours of daily work covering standing poses, forward bend, twists, sitting poses, back bends, inversions and ending with restorative yoga 🧘‍♀️ There is something special about doing it in person with other yogis.

 

It was both blissful and demanding.  Intense, focused effort got me hot 🔥 , sweating, huffing and puffing opening up back body, sides & front body, chest, shoulders, and groins. 

 

The real transformation lay within the challenge itself: carefully identifying and unraveling years of ingrained patterns, and consciously undoing habits that no longer serves us.

 

It’s not about stretching but accessing restricted areas & creating space from the very core of our being. It is a journey that requires time, persistence, patience, consistency and effort.

 

We don't just "do" a pose—we inhabit it. Props like chairs, blocks, belts, and bolsters, make the practice more accessible allowing each posture to be explored with depth and precision. We work from the inside out to release trapped tension and unlock the body. 

 

In this process, something deeper emerged. The work became almost meditative—not because it is easy, but because it cultivates awareness. As attention sharpened, a quiet shift occurrs: we become both participant and observer. The mind becomes quiet taking us on an inward journey.

 

There is an awakening —one that lifts your heart ❤️, shifts stagnant energy, and leaves you feeling vibrantly alive.

 

Did I love the process and results? Yes 🙌 I have explored various yoga styles over the years and keep coming back to Iyengar. It always amazes me :-)

 

Iyengar yoga brings awareness to every inch of my being, being present.

 

Iyengar Yoga is a masterclass in alignment, depth, and precision. From the foundation of my feet to the crown of my head—through the hips, groins, and spine in every pose. 

 

A deeply rewarding practice that keeps me coming back—true "yoga bliss" is the result of consistent work. 

 

I walked out feeling taller,  energised yet calm and super happy. 💝
